Left In The Dark - Tarja Turunen

Posiblemente no lo sepan pero Tarja Turunen es mi cantante favorita; por muchos años he sido su fiel seguidora. Me emocioné mucho al ver la convocatoria para diseñar la portada de su nuevo álbum "Left In The Dark" que contendrá versiones distintas de las canciones de su actual álbum "Colours In The Dark".  

Uno de mis más grandes sueños por mucho tiempo ha sido el poder diseñar para ella, así que imaginar que mi diseño pueda ser la portada de su siguiente disco fue en verdad muy inspirador mientras trabajaba. 

Por alguna razón deseaba crear una imagen saturada pero cuidando el equilibrio entre los elementos. Para el fondo utilicé como texturas dos de mis pinturas abstractas; el ornamento del ala y del accesorio en la mano de Tarja las diseñé en base a dibujos recientes que he hecho con tinta y marcadores, posiblemente esto fue lo que más tiempo me tomó hacer. 

Sería maravilloso ganar pero si no es posible, en verdad disfrute mucho el proceso y me siento muy feliz con el resultado. 

Tarja, espero en verdad te guste la portada tanto como a mí. :) 
 

 

You may not know it but Tarja Turunen is my favorite singer, for many years I have been her faithful follower. I was very excited to see the call to design the cover of her new album "Left In The Dark", which will contain different versions of songs from her current album "Colours In The Dark".

One of my biggest dreams for so long has been to design for her, so to imagine that my design could be the cover of her next album while I was working on the image was indeed very inspiring. 

For some reason I wanted to create a saturated image but taking care of the balance between the elements. For the background I used two of my abstract paintings as textures, the ornamental wing and accessory in Tarja´s hand was designed based on recent drawings I've done with ink and markers, this is what possibly took me longer to do. 

It would be wonderful to win but if it's not possible I really enjoyed the process a lot and I'm so happy with the result. 

Tarja, I really hope you like the cover as much as I do. :)
